Welcome to the third and final post in my Bode series. This one is all about the Art Deco side of Bode - think intricate beading, as well as rich textures like velvet, lace, and brocade. There’s also a ton of ornate elements like tassels and metallics (mood board at the bottom if you want a sense of the vibe). Ostensibly this post, like the two in the series that preceded it, is about finding affordable but quality dupes for a very unaffordable but quality brand. It turns out that after finding so many items, we’ve almost moved past the Bode of it all and have arrived at a place simply showcasing 70+ gorgeous, intricate, vintage or vintage-inspired items for you to shop. Instead of the maybe two dozen items I was hoping to find initially, I found almost two hundred, and instead of one post it became three. It’s just a reminder of why I’m so addicted to TRR - the rabbit holes you can go down are both plentiful and fruitful.
I also would like to note that schvitzy mid-July is probably not the time you’re wanting to shop for things like brocade jackets with fur collars (you probably want something like fish themed jewelry or a graphic tee). One bottom feeder hot tip however is to shop for the seasons and weather ahead - no one else will be looking for these items and they’re likely just sitting there getting heavily discounted. You’ll be sitting pretty at a future holiday party with a hot toddy in hand, wearing your vintage beaded little black dress, velvet tasseled bag in hand. Like my favorite anthropomorphic talking clock Mr. Cogsworth once said, “if it’s not baroque, don’t fix it!”
